ECA
The Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) was founded in 1901. Its member firms range from local employers with only a few employees to national multi-service companies with many branches employing thousands of personnel - many operating worldwide. ECA members employ over 30,000 people and support 8,000 apprentices in their craft training. They dominate this sector in the UK with a collective annual turnover approaching £4 billion per annum. From plugs to power stations, from fibre optics to factories, the ECA represents the best in all sectors of the industry. It assists and encourages its members to provide high quality, good value and safe electrical installation.
Scomac Services takes an active role in the management of the Thames Valley Branch, where Barbie McSean is a past Chairman and represents the members and the Branch at the Regional Executive Committee.
HVCA
The Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association is the leading trade association for contractors in the fields of heating and ventilating. Membership of the association adds value to members' business by providing quality services, promoting excellence and shaping the commercial environment through representation and leadership. The HVCA represents the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVCA) products and equipment.
In addition to its role as a trade association, the HVCA has a parallel role as an employers' organisation. This allows it to implant new ideas, developments and concepts relation to people management by championing industry competitiveness and profitability; negotiation collective agreements on behalf of the members, providing an employment advice line.
NICEIC
The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) is the industry's independent, non profit-making, voluntary regulatory body covering the whole of the United Kingdom. The NICEIC's sole purpose is to protect consumers from unsafe and unsound electrical work. Unlike the ECA, it is not a trade association and do not represent the interests of electrical contractors. In existence for 50 years, 
the NICEIC maintains a list of Approved Contractors that are assessed every year to check that their work meets the national safety standard BS 7671 and other relevant technical standards.
EIB Association
The EIB Association members are manufacturers from different industry, offering a wide range of solutions for Homes & Buildings. EIBA is directly represented in 18 countries by a national organisation. EIB Partners are trained professionals, having obtained a training certificate. Scomac Services is one of the 7,000 EIB Partners worldwide.
